This work focuses on technologies that help us sense, perceive and organize images in ways that are intuitive and powerful. Teams are working to boost the capabilities of today's digital imaging systems through innovation acquisition and processing techniques. These lie at the boundary between Image Science, which involves optics and human perception, and Computer Sciences. Much of the recent computational work focuses on making visual content more easily searchable and by training information systems to acquire useful information about images, the acquisition context and user preferences.
