"While I was over there, I created a web site for the kids'
school. It was a great way to show the teachers how to effectively
use this digital imaging technology to tell a story," explained Jones.
"So many people hear negative things about the Internet. I think my project
gave the teachers and administrators a better idea of how powerful the
Internet really is."
Jones said it was amazing how many people had digital cameras at the
Olympics. In fact, three of his 5-person CBS Nagano crew ended up buying
KODAK digital cameras in Japan. "They were so impressed with what I was
doing."
These days, Fountain Jones has found a number of new uses for his camera.
A small business owner as well, Jones runs Perigee Corporation, a web content
development company that's involved in helping businesses market their products
and services on the Internet. Sometimes, the company will design the actual
web pages for their clients.
"The DC210 is one of our main digital tools," explained Jones. "We use the
camera to capture interactive models and props. And, it makes web work very
simple." In his CBS life, Jones uses his DC210 camera to capture storyboards.
His primary imaging program is ADOBE Photoshop. And, now that he's home,
Jones is getting his kids hooked on digital photography, too.
"This camera is so easy that my kids have started using it. And, they are
having a lot of fun. It's amazing how much they have picked up just by watching
me work with the pictures." added Jones. "Now, they want to get in there
and have fun with their own pictures and play. My daughter was even inspired
to take a computer graphics course this summer. All because I got this camera."
