Kodak Professional DCS 330 Digital CameraDelivers 3-megapixel resolution surpassing otherdigital cameras within the same price rangeKodak has announced the introduction of the Kodak Professional DCS 330 digital camera, a 3-megapixel digital camera at the highly competitive price point of TW$49,800. The Kodak Professional DCS 330 digital camera, with the patented ITO CCD, provides portrait, commercial and professional photographers a cost-effective alternative to medium-format and 35mm single lens reflex (SLR) cameras for a wide range of photography needs. The DCS 330 digital camera is the latest addition to Kodak's award-winning line-up of professional digital cameras. With a high resolution of 3 million pixels, the DCS 330 surpasses other digital cameras within the same price range. Its 9 MB file allows professional photographers to meet the highest standards for resolution and colour accuracy. The DCS 330 is a high-end professional digital SLR camera that uses the Nikon Pronea 6i camera body as a host for Kodak's proprietary ITO CCD and digital imaging system. The DCS 330 features an unsurpassed Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) Charged Couple Device (CCD), an ISO range of 125 to 400, Kodak's proprietary anti-aliasing filter and a range of additional features that are critical to professionals who make a living from the photos they take. The ITO sensor, which is more transmissive than the polysilicon sensors found in other digital cameras, increases the spectral response from the camera. This allows two and a half times more blue light to reach the CCD, improving color accuracy and reducing image noise. "The DCS 330 will appeal to photographers who require superior image quality and the flexibility and functionality of a high-end 35mm camera," said Thomas Li, Markets Development Manager of Commercial Markets, Kodak Professional. "The DCS 330 sets a new standard for high-resolution images and portrait-quality color in this segment, yet still meet the demands of a range of applications. It is undoubtedly the best tool for professional photographers." "Along with its primary applications, the DCS 330 will enable people who have been waiting for a robust professional digital camera at this price point to get into digital photography," Thomas Li added. "And, many professional photographers can now own a DCS 330 as a 'second camera' for special assignments that lend themselves particularly well to digital imaging." About The DCS 330 One important feature of the DCS 330 is the open Application Programmer Interface (API). It lets third-party developers write their own custom software applications to extract images from the camera. Other innovative features include:
Applications: The DCS 330 meets the demands of numerous photographic applications, particularly volume portrait and special event photography. It also is an ideal imaging tool for the government, military and law enforcement community; commercial, corporate and industrial photography; and certain medical and scientific imaging applications (for details on applications of the DCS 330, please refer to the attached appendix). In addition, the camera's flexible file formats-both raw and finished files-enable customers to easily and quickly re-purpose images from the printed page to the Internet within one hour. Regular firmware upgrades make the DCS 330 a valuable imaging tool for today and tomorrow. DCS 330 ships with an AC power adapter and cable, as well as software for management and viewing of finished files. Kodak also offers tiered service and support plans for owners of DCS digital cameras. |
