Meet the newest addition to the KODAK DIGITAL SCIENCE Capture Software family - Low-Volume Capture Software (LVCS). Two versions are available - the Lite version is packaged with every Scanner 1500 and 2500, and complements their capabilities with many productivity-enhancing features, while the full version adds even more features.

• Deskew: All images are corrected for skew, producing crisp and straight images.
• Auto-Crop: All images are sized to their original dimensions, so you can mix all formats without pre-sorting.
• Auto-Rotate: Scan in landscape (25% faster) and display and save images in portrait.
• Auto-Delete of Blank Backsides: Keep backsides containing text and discard blank backsides on the fly.
• Blank Page Separation: Trigger automatically the creation of a new document or batch by simply inserting a blank page before each document or batch.
• Merge: Merge front and rears of small documents in one image to see all information in a glance.
• Split: Split double or triple folded forms in 4 or 6 individual images in the correct sequence for forms processing or easy reading.
• CD Output: Create your own Document CD's with the special Document CD output application template. A freeware retrieval and viewer application is included and can be distributed for free on every CD. The viewer is available in several languages.
• Template Applications: More than a dozen Template Applications make your scanner's image and index output compatible with a range of popular imaging systems on the market.
• Switch on the red light source in the Scanner 2500 through an LVCS Lite page setup option. This drops out red form layouts. Forms drop out results in improved optical character recognition with forms processing systems.
• Switch LVCS Lite to demo mode to demonstrate and try out the full LVCS features. Demo mode places a demo bitmap in ten percent of the images.

• Bar Code Reading: Automate your indexing and read 13 different types of bar codes in any orientation. You can also use the orientation of the bar code to correct the orientation of the image on the screen automatically. Bar code detection can also be used to trigger the creation of a new document or batch.
• Patch Code Reading: Trigger the creation of a new document or batch with patch codes. This LVCS function can be used in conjunction with other versions of KODAK DIGITAL SCIENCE Capture Software.
• Indexing without a Scanner: Continue scanning without interruption while another operator uses LVCS to do manual indexing. This LVCS function can be used in conjunction with other versions of KODAK DIGITAL SCIENCE Capture Software such as HVCS and MVCS driving a scanner.
• Process Batches on an unattended PC: Continue scanning without interruption and let another PC do the batch processing automatically and unattended with the new Automatic Batch Processing Module included with every LVCS.
• Access to the Document Imprinter Setup: Setup the Scanner 1500 and 2500 Document Imprinter to print date, a sequential number, the batch name, etc. on your paper documents.
• Image Segmentation: Adjust threshold and dithering individually for up to 3 segments in the image on the front and up to 3 segments on the rear. Can be used to scan a picture different from the surrounding text on an ID card or to enhance a faint stamp or text on a form.
• Continuous Forms Splitting: Scan a continuous form and the continuous image is split in individual images during scanning. This can be used to scan seismographs, green bar printer output, cardiograms, cash register tapes, continuous forms, etc.
